Opportunity:
Cosecha ("harvest" in Spanish) is a nonviolent social movement fighting for permanent protection, dignity, and respect for the 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. Their movement connects the long tradition of farmworker organizing to the present-day pain of thousands of undocumented Americans whose labor continues to feed the country.
Solution:
An interconnected story, told in three simple symbols: the sprout of a new movement; the roots of culture and heritage; and the eagle, an homage to Aztec Eagle that came to symbolize the United Farmworker’s movement. One movement, one brand, many stories layered. The mark tells a story through three symbols: sprout, roots and an eagle. The sprouts represent the beginning of a new movement. The roots show that this movement is rooted in culture and a rich heritage of family and community in the struggle. The eagle is an honoring of the movement that came before, The United Farmworkers Movement, which used the image of an aztec eagle.
