Opportunity:
The sequel to the popular book Beautiful Trouble: A Toolbox for Revolution, Beautiful Rising is a survey of real-world examples on how people have fought for social change using creative tools and tactics in the global south. The first book garnered a wide audience, opening an opportunity for our team to receive extensive feedback in a  human-centered design process.

Solution:
Through our conversations with readers, we learned that people wanted to see a modular layout that both organizes these concepts into categories and cross-references them at the same time. By choosing a modular layout, I mapped the concepts across a strict grid and narrative categories. The resulting book provides readers with an interwoven map, charting each concept’s relationship to the others.
